Sonja Dahl, MPhil RCA, FRSA

Sonja is a design practitioner with 25+ years of experience, holding senior positions in the public, private, and charitable sectors. As the former Director of Innovation Skills at Nesta, she oversaw global innovation and learning programmes, including States of Change and the Creative Enterprise Programme. At the Design Council, Sonja was part of the team responsible for evolving design as a process and practice, developing and delivering business support programmes and shaping tools and methods like the iconic Double Diamond.

Sonja’s ethos centres on building strong partnerships, embedding design principles early in projects, and empowering individuals and teams to respond to challenges creatively. Her passion for design, empathetic approach, and dedication drive her impactful work.

Sonja holds a First Class Honours degree in Design and a Master of Philosophy in Vehicle Design from the Royal College of Art.
